Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive arrested an alleged
drug peddler along with 24 bottles of liquor and 1,620 India rupees from Madhyanagar upazila in
Sunamganj district on Tuesday night.
The arrested is Ashik Nur Islam, 23, a resident of Koroibari village under Bongsikunda North union of the upazila.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of BGB-28 conducted a raid in the village and arrested the youth along with the drugs and foreign currencies, said Md Sohel Khan, an official of the battalion.
Madhyanagar Police Station officer-in-charge Md Emran Hossain said BGB handed over the arrested to the police station after filling a case against him.
Later, he was sent to jail following a court order, the OC added.
