Elephant kills school boy in C'nawabganj

A school boy was killed after being attacked by a mad elephant in Chapainawabganj's Nachol upazila on Wednesday.

The incident took place around 7 am in Manikra village under Nejampur union of the upazila.

The dead was Mufassir Hossain, 12, son of Bulbul Hossain, a resident of Lakshmipur village of the upazila.

Nachol Police Station officer-in-charge Mintu Rahman said Mufassir was seriously injured in the attack of two mad elephants. Later, when he was taken to Nachol Upazila Health Complex in an injured state, the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

The OC also said the body has been taken to police custody. Legal action is under process in the incident, the OC added.
