A teenage
college student stabbed to death by neighbor at Gouripur upazila in
Mymensingh district on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Easin Ahmed Sharif, 17, son of Sobuj Mia, a resident of Monati village under the upazila. He was an 11th grader of Hafez Ziaur Rahman College in Purbadhala upazila.
According to locals, the accused Ershad Mia stabbed Sharif indiscriminately when he went out of his house after breakfirst over a trivial matter, leaving him critically injured.
He was taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital wher the the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Gouripur Police Station officer-in-charge Mahmudul Hasan said being informed police visited the area and kept the body at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police also arrested the main accused from the village and legal action would be taken in this regard, the OC added.
