Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive arrested a Myanmar national along with 50,000 Yaba pills from Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar district early Saturday.

The arrested was identified as Md Rafique, 32.

Acting on a tip-off, BGB-2 came to know that a big consignment of Yaba pills would be smuggled through the area. Being informed, a team of BGB-2 conducted a drive in the area and found four people crossing the zero line of the border area around 12:15 am, said commanding officer of BGB-2, Lt Col Mohiuddin.

Being challenged, three of the “smugglers” managed to flee the scene but BGB managed to arrest one of them with the Yaba pills.

The legal actions were underway in this regard, the BGB official added.
