Sheikh Hasina establishes Bangladesh as self-respecting country: Hanif

Awami League joint secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif has said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina established Bangladesh as a self-respecting country.

He was speaking as the chief guest at a discussion on Wednesday titled ‘Deshratna Sheikh Hasina’s Birthday, Bangladesh’s Advance and Smart Bangladesh’ held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia.
Hanif said, “Sheikh Hasina's leadership took Bangladesh to an international status where there are many big nations could not reach our status because she is the prime minister of Bangladesh. She has established the country as a role model for development in the world.”

IU Bengal Council for Literature and Culture (BCLC) arranged the event at Bir Shrestha Hamidur Rahman auditorium on the campus in the morning marking Sheikh Hasina’s 77th birthday.

IU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Shaikh Abdus Salam was the chief discussant. Former Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Shahinoor Rahman, presidium member of central BCLC and writer Kamrul Islam, central general secretary of BCLC were present as honorable guests.

IU BCLC council president Professor Dr Mamunur Rahman, president of university Shapla Forum and director of Institute of Islamic Education and Research (IIER) was in the chair conducted by Folklore Studies Department assistant professor Mostafizur Rahman.

IU former treasurer Professor Dr Selim Toha, proctor Professor Dr Shahdat Hossain Azad, student advisor Professor Dr Shelina Nasrin, IUTA general secretary Professor Dr Tapan Kumar Gooder, Bangabandhu Parishad general secretary Professor Dr Mahbubul Arfin and Shapla Forum secretary Professor Dr Mahbubar Rahman attended the program.
