Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud on Saturday said BNP has claimed that final game will be held in October, but unfortunately they won't see 11 players in its team before the final game.
"BNP has claimed that the final game will be held in October. We are also waiting for the final game. But, unfortunately they will witness that their players will leave the party. There are more leaders like Shamser Mobin and Taimur Alam Khandaker in the list of departure," he said.
The minister was addressing the triennial conference of Jubo League (JL) of Ranguniya upazila unit in Chattogram district, BSS reports.
Jubo League central committee general secretary Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil addressed the conference as special guest with JL Ranguniya upazila unit president Shamsuddoha Sikder Arzu in the chair.
Dr Hasan said vested groups are busy with hatching conspiracies when the country is moving ahead indomitably. BNP is conducting different movements including mass procession, walking procession and sitting programme, he said, adding that it is time to see when BNP would announce crawling programme.
He said BNP is claiming that they would topple the government through those programmes. But the reality is that many leaders are leaving BNP, he continued.
The information minister said BNP has no faith in people and for this their gathering is shrinking day by day. BNP is now visiting the foreigners repeatedly, he added.
About the US visa policy, he said, according to the policy, the persons will come under the preview who will be against a free and fair election. And now BNP is declaring that they will resist the polls, he said.
"Then who will come under the visa policy?" he posed a question.
He said the government or Awami League doesn't feel any pressure for the visa policy. "We are welcoming it. Rather BNP is under pressure due to the policy. There is no benefit to visit foreigners. The polls will be held in a free, fair and neutral manner. Common people will take part in the polls," said Dr Hasan.
He said, "This is our country and we will decide how the polls will be held. The Election Commission will decide how the election will be held. We know the democratic norms. We also know how a free and fair poll is being held."
Expressing his determination, Dr Hasan said the next poll will be held free, fair and neutrally and Sheikh Hasina will take oath as the head of the government for the fifth time through landslide victory.
Terming the Jubo League as a vanguard of Awami League, the ruling party leader urged all leaders and activists to remain alert as none can carry out sabotage acts.
JL Chattogram North district unit president SM Rashedul Islam inaugurated the conference while its general secretary Mohammad Shahjahan addressed it as the key speaker.
JL organising secretary Saifur Rahman Shohagh and member Niaz Morshed Elit, among others, addressed the conference as special guests while JL Ranguniya upazila unit general secretary Mohammad Yunus conducted it.
