The Directorate of National Consumers' Rights Protection (DNCRP) on Saturday fined Tk 2,32,500 to 86 institutions across the country for selling products including potatoes, onions and eggs at higher prices.
A total of 32 teams from the directorate conducted raids at 39 markets throughout the country and imposed the fine, a DNCRP press release said.
It said the directorate are conducting raids across the country including Dhaka and other cities as well as all districts to keep stable the commodity prices including potatoes, onions and eggs.
The activities of the directorate will be continued to protect the rights of consumers in the country, it added.
