Main opposition BNP will hold a rally in Dhaka on Sunday demanding release of ailing party chairperson Khaleda Zia and her advanced treatment abroad.

Dhaka City South and Dhaka City North BNP will organise the rally in front of the central office premises of the party at Nayapaltan in the capital at 2:00pm.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will attend the rally as the chief guest, said BNP's media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan.

Khaleda Zia has been undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital since August 9 last. Physicians said her physical condition became very critical. She was shifted to the critical care unit (CCU) from the cabin just after four days into her admission to the hospital. Physicians advised to send her abroad as early as possible saying that the existing treatment method is not enough for her proper treatment in the country. But, it could not be possible to send her abroad as the government has not given permission to do so.

The 78-year-old Khaleda Zia has long been suffering from arthritis, diabetes, kidney and liver ailments.
