The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the prize money for the upcoming 13th edition of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, set to be held in India.

The winning team of this prestigious 10-nation tournament will walk away with a substantial prize of USD 4,000,000, in addition to the coveted trophy they will lift at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19, UNB reports.
The runners-up will not go empty-handed, receiving USD 2,000,000. Meanwhile, the teams reaching the semi-finals will each be rewarded with USD 800,000 from the impressive total prize pool of USD 10 million. The tournament, comprising 48 matches across 10 venues, is scheduled to commence on October 5.

This year’s World Cup will introduce individual match incentives for every league match victory. Teams will engage in a round-robin format, with the top four advancing to the semi-finals.

The winners of each group stage match will receive USD 40,000, while the six teams not qualifying for the semi-finals will receive a payment of USD 100,000.

The ICC’s announcement promises a competitive tournament with substantial rewards for the participating teams, making the 2023 World Cup one of the most eagerly anticipated cricket events in recent memory.
