A bank official was killed in a road accident on the Rahanpur-Nachol road in Gomostapur upazila of Chapainawabganj district on Friday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Nazmul Haque Ripon, 42, son of Saijuddin, a resident of Court Collegepara area under Kashiadanga upazila of Rajshahi district. He was an AGM (ICT) of Agricultural Development Bank of Rajshahi Branch.
Quoting witnesses, police said Ripon along with his friend was going to Rahanpur from Nachol on an autorickshaw. On the way, the autorickshaw overturned into the road as its driver lost control over the steering of the vehicle. He died on the spot.
Rahanpur Police Investigation Centre in-charge Nazmul Haque said being informed, police recovered the body and sent to a hospital morgue.
Legal actions would be taken if the family members made a complaint in this regard, the police official added.
