Jamalpur deputy commissioner (DC) Md Imran Ahmed who sought votes for "Boat" symbol in the upcoming general elections has been transferred.
He was transferred to the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment.
On the other hand, Bangladesh Civil Service Administration Academy's deputy director (deputy secretary) Md Shafiur Rahman was appointed as the deputy commissioner of Jamalpur.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued separate circulars in this regard on Thursday (September 14).
Md Imran Ahmed came under strong criticism recently after seeking votes for "Boat" and electing the Awami League government in the next general election.
State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said steps would be taken after examining the remarks of DC Imran Ahmed.
