According to the case statement, pro-BNP lawyers brought out a rally under the banner of United Lawyer's Front at about 12:15pm on Tuesday demanding resignation of the Awami League government and to release BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
When the rally reached in front of the main road of the court, police obstructed them. At one stage, the lawyers took position on the road. Police requested them to leave the road. But they again sit-in in front of the CMM court. Then a chase and counter-chase took place between police and the BNP lawyers as they did not pay heed to the police's order.
