Selling of online advance train tickets for Eid-ul-Azha will start from June 14.
On the first day, the authorities will sell tickets for June 24. And, later, tickets for June 25, 26, 27 and 28 will be sold on June 15, 16, 17 and 18 respectively.
Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan disclosed it at a press conference held at the Rail Bhaban in Dhaka on Tuesday.
To reduce public sufferings and the load on server, the tickets will be sold in two shifts. The West Zone will start selling tickets online at 8am while the East Zone will start at noon.
Eight pairs of special trains will be operated to ensure hassle-free journey for holidaymakers during the Eid. Tickets for these trains will be sold online only, he added.
The advance return train ticket sale will start on June 22. Tickets for July 2 will be available on that day and return tickets can be purchased until June 26. Tickets for July 6 will be sold on the last day.
This time it has been decided to sell train tickets in advance 10 days before Eid. Earlier, tickets were given in advance 5 days before Eid. However, advance tickets for Eid journey cannot be refunded.
Eid-ul-Azha is expected to be celebrated on June 29.
