A court in Nrayanganj on Tuesday sentenced three persons to death for killing a child after abduction at Rupagnj upazila in the district in 2018.
Narayanganj Women and Children Repression Tribunal Judge Nazmul Haque Shyamal announced the verdict in the afternoon.
The condemned convicts are Zakir Hossain, Shahjalal and Ashraful, residents of Tekpara area under the upazila.
Rakib Uddin Ahmed, public prosecutor of the court, confirmed the matter.
According to the prosecution, on October 19, 2018, the convicts kidnapped and killed child Jui, 3, daughter of Anwar Hossain, from Bhulta Tekpara area of Rupganj.
Later, the victim's father Anwar Hossain filed a case with Rupganj Police Station as plaintiff in the incident.
After investigation, police submitted a charge-sheet against the accused to the court.
The court delivered the verdict after taking depositions of 16 witnesses.
