159 new Covid cases reported in country

A total of 159 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country in 24 hours till Monday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The daily case test positivity dropped to 5.13 per cent from Sunday’s 5.50 per cent as 3,099 samples were tested.

With the new numbers, the country's total caseload rose to 20, 39,130.

However, the official death toll from the disease remained unchanged at 29,446 as no new fatalities were reported.

The recovery rate stands at 98.39 per cent. However, the death rate remained unchanged at 1.44 per cent.
