Dengue surge: 72 new cases reported

Seventy-two people were hospitalised with dengue in the country in 24 hours till Monday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

It said of the new patients, 58 were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka and the rest outside it.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 320 people were hospitalised with dengue between January 1 and May 29 last year.

A total of 226 dengue patients, including 198 in the capital, are now receiving treatment at hospitals across the country.

So far, the DGHS has recorded 1, 843 dengue cases, 1604 recoveries, and 13 deaths this year.
