Golden Jubilee of Julio-Curie award to Bangabandhu celebrated in Kotalipara

The golden jubilee (50th anniversary) of the conferment of the Julio-Curie Peace Medal on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was celebrated in Kotalipara Upazila of Gopalganj on Sunday.

Upazila administration chalked out different programmes, including paying tributes to the portrait of Bangabandu at Upazila Parishad Chattar, to celebrate the day.

Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Ferdous Wahid, Upazila Parishad Chairman Bimal Krishna Biswas, Upazila Awami League General Secretary Ayanal Hossain Sheikh, Municipal Mayor Matiar Rahman Hazra, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md Saiful Islam, office-in-charge of Kotalipara Police Station Md Zillur Rahman,

valiant freedom fighter Tyabur Rahman Sardar, UP Chairman Rafeza Begum, Samar Chand Mridha Khokon, Tushar Madhu, Volunteer League leader Babul Hazra, former president of Upazila Chhatra League Babul Hazra, former member of Zilla Parishad Nazrul Islam Hazra Mannu, former VP of Sheikh Lutfar Rahman Adarsh Government College Sheikh Qayyum,  were present on the occasion, among others.

Later, a procession was brought out in the town. A discussion, presided over by the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ferdous Wahid, was also held marking the day.
