Police recovered the body of an elderly man from a footpath in front of the High Court (HC) in the capital city on Saturday morning.
The deceased, aged around 60, identities could not be known immediately. He was apparently a vagabond.
Shahbag Police Station sub-inspector Md Mahmudul Hasan said being informed, they recovered the body from outside the boundary of the HC, opposite to Education Bhaban at around 10am.
Later, the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital Morgue for autopsy, he said.
Police were trying to know the identities of the deceased and the actual cause of the death would be known after investigation, the SI added.
