Mustafizur Rahman gets senior secretary status

The government has given senior secretary status to Md Mustafizur Rahman, secretary to the Public Security Division of the Home Ministry, reports BSS.

The Public Administration Ministry today issued a gazette notification signed by senior assistant secretary Sheikh Shamsul Arefin in this regard.

The notification said the new senior secretary status of Md Mustafizur Rahman will effect immediately.

He was awarded Digital Bangladesh Award-2020 for his relentless contribution to the country’s ICT sector. Mustafizur Rahman was also conferred to the WSIS Award-2022, one of the world's most prestigious awards in the IT sector.
 
During his tenure as Land Secretary, the Land Ministry achieved 'Bangabandhu Public Administration Award-2022' for setting up of 'Land Information Bank'.

Later, Mustafizur Rahman joined as the Secretary to the Public Security Division on 02 April, 2023.

He was born in 1964 in Khulna district. He completed his masters in physics from Rajshahi University. In 1991 he joined Bangladesh Civil Service as an Assistant Commissioner and first class magistrate.

He was also the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Jashore, the first digital district initiated by him.
