Bangladesh need 55 runs to win only Test against Ireland

Bangladesh scored 83 runs after losing two wickets in the morning session of Day four of the one-off Test against Ireland at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Friday.

Bangladesh batter Liton Das got dismissed in the fifth over of the innings after a rapid 19-ball 23.  Tamim Iqbal is now batting with 22 runs.

Ireland set a target of 138 runs in front of Bangladesh in the only test of the series. They were all out for 214 runs in their first innings and scored 292 runs in the second innings. Bangladesh scored 369 runs in the first innings.

Ireland started the third day with 286 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Shakib Al Hasan started the bowling with Taijul Ahmed and Mehdi Hasan Miraj. Pacer Ebadat Hossain was brought in after two overs.

He brought success with the second ball. He broke McBrine's wicket on the second ball. After playing 156 balls, he scored 72 runs with 8 fours and 1 six. It was then only a matter of time before the Irish were all out.

Ebadat Hossain also took their last wicket. Another unbeaten batsman, Graham Hume, lost his wicket to Ebadat's ball. He returned to the dressing room after scoring 14 runs off 55 balls with 2 fours. The Irish added just 6 runs in the third day.
