Unidentified body found in Padma River

Members of Daulatdia River Police recovered the body of an unidentified person from No-7 ferry ghat of the Padma River at Goalanda upazila in Rajbari district on Friday afternoon.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately as the body has already been started to decompose.
Daulatdia River Police output in-charge JM Sirajul Kabir said locals saw the body was floating on the river in the afternoon and informed police.

Being informed, police rushed there and recovered the body.

Later, the body was sent to a hospital morgue for autopsy and legal steps would be taken in this regard, the official added.
