Two held with liquor in Rajbari

Members of Detective Branch of Police (DB) in a drive arrested two alleged drug peddlers along with 100 liters of liquor from Goalanda upazila of Rajbari district on Thursday night.

The arrested are Bacchu Sardar, 45, a resident of Sattar Memberpara area under Daulatdia union of the upazila and Md Akter Hossain, 42, a resident of Ramkantapur area of Sadar upazila of the district.
Detective Branch of Rajbari District unit officer-in-charge Md Moniruzzaman Khan said in a press release that acting on a tip-off, a team of the force conducted a raid on Dhaka-Khulna highway of the upazila and arrested the men along with the drugs.

A case was filed with Goalanda Ghat Police Station against them under Narcotics Control Act and legal steps are under process in this regard, the official added.
