Elderly man crushed under train in Netrokona

An elderly man was killed after being crushed under the wheels of a train at Purbadhala upazila in Netrokona district on Monday afternoon.

The accident took place at Paboi area at around 2 pm.
The deceased Abdul Ali, 85, was a resident of Paboi village under Khalishaur union of the upazila.

Quoting locals, Purbadhala Railway Station booking assistant Md Abdul Momen said Jaria-bound a local train ran over the elderly man when he was crossing the rail track, leaving him dead on the spot.

Shyamganj Railway Police outpost sub-inspector Harun-Or-Rashid said being informed, police recovered the body and handed over to the deceased's family.
