Summit to explore business opportunities in Qatar, MoU signed

Summit Group and Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) have signed a Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) in Doha, Qatar on Monday.

Under the MoU Summit will explore investment and business opportunities in Qatar especially in the supply of Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) with QFC, says a press release.

QFC Co-Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sheikha Alanoud Bint Hamad Al-Thani and Summit Oil and Shipping Co Ltd (SOSCL) Director Salman Khan on behalf of their respective business organizations, in the presence of the Bangladesh Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, CEO and MD of Summit Power International Ayesha Aziz Khan, Sultan bin Rashid Al Khater, Undersecretary of Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry and QFC CEO Yousef Mohamed Al-Jaida.

The QFC is an onshore business and financial centre located in Doha, established by Law No. 7 of 2005 of the State of Qatar. A world-class platform for companies, QFC offers its own legal, regulatory, tax and business environment, contributing to the decisive economic development and diversification prescribed by Qatar National Vision 2030.

Summit Oil and Shipping Co Ltd (SOSCL) is the energy arm of Summit Group, the largest infrastructure conglomerate in Bangladesh.

The group is the largest independent power producer (IPP) in Bangladesh, generating around 2 gigawatts (GW) for the national grid as well as owns and operates Bangladesh's second Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) and LNG import terminal with a capacity of 500 mmcf/d.
