Hili land port shut due to holiday

On the occasion of India's Republic Day, export-import operations between Bangladesh and India through the Hili land port in Dinajpur district are closed since this morning.

"Trade between the two countries remained suspended since Thursday morning as India is observing its 74th Republic Day which is marked as a national holiday,” said Abdur Rahman Liton, president of Hili Customs C&F Agents Association.

"The trade activities will also remain closed for Friday due to the weekly holiday. All activities of the port will resume from Saturday (January 28),” he added.

However, passengers with passports will be able to pass through the Hili immigration check post normally.
