Gunfire, shelling again on Myanmar side of Tumbru border |
File photo Firing on the Myanmar side of the Ghumdhum-Tumbru border in Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban sparked panic again in local residents from Friday evening. After an interval of over 24 hours, from Thursday noon to Friday afternoon, locals again started hearing the loud sounds of gunfire and heavy artillery from around 6pm, creating a panic in the villages adjacent to the border. According to the locals two Myanmar's separatist groups at the zero line on the Ghumdhum-Tumbru border are trying to create chaos at the border. Details about the matter will be given later. Earlier last week, one person was killed and another injured as shots were fired between two armed groups of Myanmar near the Rohingya camp alongside the zero line of Tumbru border. |
