BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has warned that the government will not be able to stop mass uprisings resorting to obstruction, repression and torture.
"The government's fall is inevitable. It will not be able to suppress the justified movement of people by retorting to torture and repression," he said in a statement on Sunday (November 27, 2022). The statement was signed by BNP's assistant office secretary Taiful Islam Tipu.
In the statement, the BNP secretary general said the present government has been obstructing the peaceful programmes of the opposition political parties including BNP constantly using law enforcers and terrorists to cling to power. The law enforcing agencies start considering the killing, injuring and suing BNP leaders and workers as normal tasks being instigated by the government.
Mirza Fakhrul observed that the Awami League government has now become completely dependant on law enforcing agencies for their survival anticipating the violent uprisings against it in the days ahead. The government which came to power through fake votes in the middle of night has become desperate to create a silent atmosphere by suppressing the opposition parties including BNP. Now, they have resorted to wholesale attacks on different democratic and human programmes including meetings and rallies of the BNP and other opposition parties.
