Port City International University Convocation held
The second convocation of Port City International University (PCIU) was held on Saturday at the Navy Convention Center in Chattogram under the theme 'Turning Dreams into Reality'.
A total of 5,649 students who passed from 13 programs in 10 departments were awarded degrees in the convocation.
Deouty Minister of Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, MP announced the degrees of the passed graduates of the University on behalf of the President Md Abdul Hamid.
AKM Enamul Haque Shamim MP, Deputy Minister of Water Resources and founder of PCIU was present as special guest at the convocation.
Prime Minister's chief secretary Dr Ahmed Kaykaus joined virtually as the convocation speaker.
University Grants Commission chairman (Additional Charge) Professor Dr Dil Afroza Begum, chairman of University Board of Trustees Mrs Tahmina Khatun and member Saifuzzaman Shekhar MP were present as guests.
Dr Nural Anwar, vice-chancellor of Port City International University gave a welcome speech.
Deputy Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury said, 'The students who participated in the convocation today are going to start their careers in a changed Bangladesh. Today's students will lead Bangladesh in the future. Digital Bangladesh will become Smart Bangladesh under their leadership.'
Convocation speaker Dr Ahmed Kaykaus said, 'Work is underway to prepare the country's education system to meet the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution. Our youth can advance the country's economy through a decent profession. Institutional education is the beginning of the journey of education.'
In this convocation, 14 students won the Chancellor Gold Medal and 13 students won the Founder Gold Medal. 1517 students directly participated in the second convocation ceremony of the university.
