Cristiano Ronaldo returns to Portugal training after missing warm-up match |
![]() Cristiano Ronaldo was ruled out last week with a stomach bug, according to Fernando Santos Cristiano Ronaldo made his return to training on Saturday having missed Portugal's sessions earlier this week with a 'stomach bug'. The forward has been at the centre of controversy this week after criticising Manchester United in a bombshell interview with Piers Morgan. Before heading on international duty with Portugal, Ronaldo was ruled out of Manchester United's last two matches against Aston Villa and Fulham with an unspecified illness. According to manager Fernando Santos, the 37-year-old was unable to participate in Wednesday's training session or play a part in Portugal's warm-up clash against Nigeria on Thursday because he was suffering from gastroenteritis. But pictures from Saturday's training session seemed to show that Ronaldo is back to business within the camp, as Portugal prepare for their World Cup opener against Ghana on Thursday. |
