Ashfaq, Nipun made Dhaka Dist BNP president, gen secy

BNP's executive committee members Khandakar Abu Ashfaq and Nipun Roy Chowdhury were made president and general secretary of the Dhaka district BNP.

Nipun Roy Chowdhury is the daughter-in-law of Gayeshwar Chandra Roy. She is the daughter of BNP's vice-chairman Nitai Roy Chowdhury. She is a lawyer by profession and BNP's executive committee member. There are 18 cases pending against her and she suffered imprisonment twice.

The party on Tuesday announced the partial committee of the district unit with Barrister Irfan Ibn Aman Omi, son of BNP Chairperson's adviser Amanullah Aman as organising secretary of the committee.

A press release signed by the party's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi also announced the convening committee of Narayanganj, Barishal (South) and Bhola districts.

Gias Uddin was made convener of the Narayanganj district unit of BNP while Golam Faruk Khokon was made member secretary.

Abul Hossain and Abul Kalam Shahin were made convener and member secretary of the Barishal (South) district unit of BNP, said the press release.
