World Tourism Day observed in Rangamati
The World Tourism Day-2022 was observed in Rangamati district on Tuesday morning.
A discussion was held at Rangamati Zila Parishad Annex Building at 11:00 am on the occasion organized by the zila parishad and district administration.
Dipankar Talukdar MP, chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Food Ministry, was present as the chief guest at the programme with Rangamati Zila Parishad chairman Angsui Pru Chowdhury in the chair.
The chief guest said that Bangladesh is a country with immense potential for tourism industry development. Rangamati district has Asia's largest Kaptai Lake and numerous mountains. The diversity and culture of the district is different from the rest of the country. Which is not seen anywhere else in the world. Thousands of people flock to this hilly region every year to witness the culture and natural diversity.
Professor Khokneshwar Tripura, chairman of tourism affairs of Rangamati Science and Technology University, conducted a presentation on tourism through a power point.
At that time, Rangamati deputy commissioner Mizanur Rahman, superintendent of police Mir Abu Tauhid, Rangamati Hill District Council chief executive officer Ashraful Islam, zila parishad members Newching Marma, Abdur Rahim, Angsuichaine Chowdhury, Bipul Tripura, Jharna Khisa spoke at the discussion.
Earlier, a colorful procession was brought out from Happy Mor area which paraded the streets of the town and ended at the zilla parishad premises.
