8-point guidelines for primary teachers on using social media

The Directorate of Primary Education has issued 8-point guidelines for the use of social media by primary school teachers.

A notification was issued in this regards on Sunday. Concern authorities have been asked to take necessary measures in this regard.

The guidelines issued by the Directorate of Primary Education are as follows:
1. Any post, picture, audio or video upload, comment, like, share that damages the image of the government or the state on social media should be avoided.

2. Any information contrary to national unity and consciousness should be avoided.

3. No information shall be published which may hurt the religious sentiments of any community or which is against the principle of secularism. Any post, picture, audio, video upload, comment, like, share which may destroy communal harmony or may deteriorate law and order should be avoided.

4. Refrain from making post defaming nationally important person, organization or any other service or clothing.

5. Gender discrimination or any controversial data shall not be published.

6.  No write-up or audio, video shall be published or shared which may cause displeasure or unpleasant sentiment in the public mind.

7. Refrain from publishing baseless, false and obscene information.

8. Refrain from upload, making commenting, like and sharing any post, image, audio or video containing adverse comments about any other state or important person of that country.
