Minor child drowns in Kishoreganj

A minor child drowned in a pond at Pakundia upazila in Kishoreganj district on Wednesday morning.

Deceased was Sajid, 1, son of Nayan Mia, a resident of Koshakanda village under Sukhia union of the upazila.
Locals said Sajid fell down into a pond behind his house while playing near its bank. Sajid's mother spotted him floating in the water of the pond and rescued him.

Later, he was taken to Pakundia Upazila Health Complex where he was declared dead.
