Trader killed being crushed by truck in Satkhira

A local trader was killed being crushed by a truck at Debhata upazila in Satkhira district early Wednesday.

Deceased Abul Kalam Azad, 45, was a resident of Sakhirpur area in the upazila. He was a sugar-can trader.
Locals said a truck crushed Azad in front of Sakhipur High School around 5:00 am when he was loading a van with sugar-can.

Azad was rescued in critical condition and taken to Sakhipur Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead, said Debhata Police Station sub-inspector Md Ainuddin.

Legal steps in this regard are under process, he added.
