Snake bite kills school boy in Jhenidah

A school boy was killed after being bitten by a snake at Sadar upazila in Jhenidah district on Tuesady morning.

Deceased was Surya Bishwas, 13, son of Ashraful Bishwas, a resident of Chuadanga village of the upazila. He was an eighth grader of a local school.

It was learnt that a poisonous snake bit the boy while he was sleeping in their grocery store in Bscic area of the town.

Later, he was rescued and taken to Jhenidah Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Jhenidah Sadar Hospital emergency department doctor Falguni Rani Saha said the boy died before reaching the hospital.
