2 held in Rangamati while trafficking wildlife to Ctg

Forest Department detained two people at Sadar upazila in Rangamati district on Wednesday afternoon when they were trafficking wildlife to Chattogram.

The detained are Chandu Chakma, 38, and Nannu Miah, 37.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Kaptai Forest Department, with the help of Bangladesh Army, conducted a raid in Jeebantoli area at about 4:00 pm and caught the duo, said its official Khandoker Mahmudul Haque Murad.

He said a pair of Myna bird and a Takshak were rescued from their possessions.

The detained people were sent to a court after filing a case against them, the official added.
