BNP observes 'Shaheed Jehad Day'

BNP on Monday observed 'Shaheed Jehad Day' with various programmes, marking the 26th anniversary of the martyrdom of Nazir Uddin Ahmed Jehad.
Leaders and activists of BNP and its associate bodies placed wreaths at Jehad Memorial Mausoleum at Dainik Bangla crossing in the morning. Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal and Jihad Smrity Parishad also placed wreaths at the mausoleum.
Besides, Jehad Smrity Parishad organised a discussion at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) in the afternoon where BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and its central leader were present.
JCD also observed the day with various programmes at different parts of the country.
Jehad, a JCD activist of Ullapara upazila in Sirajganj, was shot dead in the capital on October 10, 1990 during the anti-Ershad movement.    �UNB
