Two drug peddlers were detained along with 12 kgs of hemp in Adamdighi upazila of Bogura district on Wednesday morning.
The detained persons are Monirul Islam, a resident of Sheilhtola village and Shahidul Islam of Ujirpur village in Chapainawabganj's Shibganj upazila.
On information that two drug dealers were going to Naogaon from Bogura in a bus for smuggling drugs. Later, a team of Narcotics Control Department (DNC) conducted a drive in Shatahar Municipalicity's Habir Intersection area.
They stopped a bus and searched the vehicle's passengers. They then recovered the drugs from their possessions, said the DNC Santahar Circle sub-inspector Shamima Akter.
Adamdighi Police Station officer-in-Charge Rezaul Karim Reza said the arrested were produced before the court after filing a case.
