Govt to administer COVID vaccine to children from July last



The government will start administering COVID vaccine to children aged between five to 11 from the last week of July, said Health Minister Zahid Maleque on Wednesday.

"Children's COVID-19 vaccine will reach Bangladesh in the mid of July. After that, we will start the campaign. The related documents have to be coordinated with the Ministry of Education," the minister disclosed this to media at the Secretariat.

"The coronavirus cases are surging in the country again. But it is not alarming. A meeting regarding the issue was held last week where some suggestions were placed."

He recommended people to wear masks at their educational institutes or workplaces and also while commuting.

Minister Zahid Maleque said, "We have already sent letters to the concerned ministries. People should have follow the health rules."
