 Khagrachhari's road communication with Dhaka, Ctg suspended after storm The communication of Khagrachhari district with Dhaka and Chattogram remained suspended as trees and electric poles fell down on Alutila road. Sabuj Chakma, deputy assistant engineer of Roads and Highways Department, said the trees and electric poles fell down on different streets during storm that began at 7 am. After that, the communication of Khagrachhari-Dhaka-Chattogram came to a halt. Passengers are facing extreme suffering as hundreds of vehicles are stuck in different places. Power Department started working to remove the poles while the Roads and Highways Department are trying to remove the trees from the roads. Technical persons are trying to remove poles and electric wires. After finishing the work, the communication will resume the electricity will be connected, said Shwagato Sarkar, executive engineer of Khagrachhari Power Development Board. TF |
