Missing child's body recovered after two-day

Body of a child was recovered by police from a bamboo bushes two days after she went missing at Ashulia near Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon.

The child was identified as Samia Akter, 5, daughter of Abdul Matin, a resident of Jhatiyapara area under Karimganj upazila of Kishoreganj district. She lived in a rented house with her parents at Kaltasuti Nayabari area of Ashulia.

Police said on May 15, the child's parents moved out of the rented house for work. They did not find Samia after returning house in the evening.

Then they lodged a written complaint with Ashulia Police Station after searching for her in different places but did not find.

Later, locals spotted her body lying in a bamboo bush half a kilometer away from their house and informed police on Tuesday afternoon.

Being informed, police recovered the body from the spot and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.

Ashulia Police Station OC Ziaul Islam confirmed the matter.

The cause of death will be known after receiving the forensic report, OC added.
