Woman, two daughters held with hemp in Dinajpur


A woman and her two daughters were arrested by police along with cannabis at Birampur upazila in Dinajpur district on Saturday night.

The arrested were Josna Begum, 50, wife of Abu Bakkar Siddique, her daughters Beuti Khatun, 21, and Suity Khatun, 19, residnts of Begumpur area of the upazila.
Police said on a tip-off, members of Birampur Police Station conducted an anti drug drive at Begumpara area and arrested them along with cannabis.

At that time 110 grams of dry cannabis, a fresh cannabis plant and cash taka were seized from their possessions.

Birampur Police Station OC Haridas Burman confirmed the matter.

A case was filed against them under Narcotic Act with the police station, OC added.
