Police on Sunday recovered the bodies of a woman and her daughter at Hatia upazila in Noakhali district.
Deceased Lutfa Begum, 45, was the wife of Robiul Haque, and her daughter Chandni, 7, residents of Gullakhli village under Hatia municipality.
Locals said Lutfa's elder daughter Nadia found her mother and sister dead in their house yard at about 2:00 pm and started screaming. After hearing her screaming, locals rushed to the spot and informed police.
Being informed, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Noakhali General Hospital morgue.
Police are investigating the matter and the actual reason could be known upon receiving the autopsy reports, said Hatia Police Station inspector Kanchon Kanti Das.
