Journalist Riaz Uddin at ICU

Riaz Uddin Ahmed, former president of Jatiya Press Club, has been taken to the  Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of United Hospital in Dhaka.

Riaz Uddin, also former president of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ), was admitted to the hospital on Sunday morning as his oxygen level has dropped. Later, he was shifted to the ICU.

The hospital coordinator Dr Fazle Rabbi confirmed the matter.

The family sources said Riaz Uddin was infected with Covid-19 several days ago. He was taken to the hospital this morning as his condition deteriorated.

Meanwhile, the senior journalist's wife sought prayers from the countrymen for his early recovery.
