Play resumes after rain break

Play in the second test between Bangladesh and Pakistan resumed at 1:30pm on Saturday after rain washed out all but 15 minutes of the second session of the opening day at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.

Earlier, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam won the toss and decided to bat first.

Openers Abid Ali and Abdullah Shafique eased to their third successive fifty partnership. This time, however, they could not convert it to three figures as left-arm spinner Taijul Islam struck twice in the morning session.

Azhar Ali is batting on 36 off 112 balls while captain Babar Azam is unbeaten on 60 off 99 after 57 overs.
