HC rules for forming commission to probe allegations against police

The High Court (HC) on Sunday issued a rule asking authorities concerned to explain in three weeks as to why it shall not pass order to form a commission to probe different allegations against police and other law enforcing agencies.

A High Court division bench comprising Justice Md Mozibur Rahman Miah and Justice Md Kamrul Hossain Mollah passed the order after holding a hearing on a writ filed in this regard, BSS reports.
The court asked law and home affairs secretaries and inspector general of police to reply the rule within three weeks.

Advocate Mohammad Shishir Manir moved the plea before the court, while Attorney General AM Amin Uddin stood for the state.

More than a hundred lawyers of the Supreme Court filed the writ on February 28 and the court on November 23 held hearing on the matter.
