5 die at RMCH COVID unit

5 die at RMCH COVID unit

Five more people died at the COVID unit in Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in the past 24 hours till Monday morning.

Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani, Director of the hospital, confirmed the matter this morning.

Among the deceased, one was confirmed Covid-19 positive while the rest four had its symptoms. Of them, three were from Chapainawabganj, and one each from Rajshahi and Natore districts.

Some 73 patients are undergoing treatment at192-bed COVID unit in the RMCH in the last 24.

During the last 24 hours, seven new patients were admitted to the COVID unit while 13 made recovery, the director added.

A total of 191 samples were tested in the past 24 hours where seven persons found positive for the virus with the positivity rate of 3.66 per cent, sources in the civil surgeon office said.
