Two arrested with ICE, arms remanded

Two alleged drug dealers who were arrested with a huge quantity of dangerous drug ICE (crystal meth) and illegal arms from Jatrabari in the capital have been placed on a nine-day remand.
Producing the accused before a court in Dhaka on Sunday, Jatrabari Police Station sub-inspector Shariful Islam pleaded to the court to place the accused on a 20-day remand (10-remand in arms case and 10-day remand in drug case).
After hearing the bail pleas, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahinur Rahman placed the accused on a five-day remand in drug case and four-day remand in arms case.
The remanded accused were ICE syndicate's mastermind Mohammad Hossain alias Khokon and his accomplice Rafique.
During the hearing, no lawyer appeared for the accused in the courtroom.
Earlier on Saturday morning, RAB arrested Mohammad Hossain alias Khokon and his accomplice Rafique along with 5kg of dangerous drug ICE, foreign pistol and bullets from Jatrabari area in the capital. It was the largest consignment of ICE which entered the country. Its market price is Tk 12.50 crore.
Following the incident, RAB-15's nayeb subedar Md Firoze Ahmed filed two seperate cases against the arrested persons with Jatrabari Police Station under the drug and arms acts.
