Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was on Wednesday evening admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi, reports timesofindia.com.
Singh had complained of weakness following a fever, said sources. "The former PM had a fever on Monday and had recovered from it, but turned weak and is currently on fluids," they added.
AIIMS officials confirmed the same and added that the former PM's condition is stable. "Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi for evaluation of fever; his condition is stable," said AIIMS officials.
Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi took to Twitter to wish the senior Congress leader a speedy recovery.
"There are some unsubstantiated rumours with regards to former PM, Dr Manmohan Singh ji's health. His condition is stable. He is undergoing routine treatment. We will share any updates as needed. We thank our friends in media for their concern," AICC secretary Pranav Jha tweeted after he was flooded with queries about Singh's health.
The 89-year-old Congress veteran had tested positive for Covid-19 in April following which he was hospitalised. He had recovered completely and was discharged from AIIMS within 10 days.
