Bangladesh Coast Guard have rescued 15 fishermen from a trawler that got stuck in the Bay of Bengal at Hatia upazila in Noakhali district for the last three days.
After receiving a phone call through national emergency helpline 999, a coast guard team took an initiative to search for the trawler.
A press release, sent by 999 media cell, said the fishing trawler ventured into deep waters with 15 fishermen on board on September 20.

However, the national emergency helpline 999 contacted the coast guard's control room and sought an intervention in this regard.
Being informed, a team from the coast guard at Bhasan Char started searching for the trawler.
Later, they traced the boat and rescued the stranded fishermen, 15 to 20 kilometers away from Bhasan Char, the press release added.
